How I Got Started as an Event Host and Entrepreneur
I didn’t wake up one day and decide to build a business around events. As a matter of fact, I’ve tried a few business ideas along the way, including candle making that had me stressed, but smelling good melting wax, pouring jars, and shipping orders out of my living room. It taught me quickly that I’m happiest in service based work and digital products, and every experiment helped shape the path that led me here and I’m grateful for all of it.
It started slowly, almost quietly, with a simple desire to bring people together. I loved watching people relax once they walked into a room that felt intentional. I loved seeing conversations spark between strangers who might never have met otherwise. At first, it was casual gatherings and small meetups. Nothing fancy, but always created with care.
The turning point came when I realized these moments mattered more than I thought. People kept asking when the next event would be. They talked about how they finally felt seen, how they found new friends, or how they felt inspired just by being in the room. It stopped being a hobby once I saw the impact. I understood then that curating experiences was a real gift, and I chose to take that gift seriously.
I learned as I went. I made mistakes and collected lessons. I worked through self doubt and long nights and the anxiety of putting my ideas in front of the world. Every event taught me something about service, leadership, and the responsibility that comes with bringing people together. Over time, I built not only confidence but a brand, a mission, and a community.
Getting started wasn’t glamorous and some days it still isn’t. It was simply me deciding that my ideas were worth pursuing and that I could grow into the person capable of executing them. I didn’t wait for permission. I just began.
